🌽 Hoosiers LOVE our sweet corn… but corn on the cob can be VERY dangerous for dogs! 🐶⚠️

As we head into cookout season remember:

🚫 Dogs should NEVER eat corn on the cob.

While the corn itself may not be toxic, the cob can cause serious medical emergencies.

Here’s why corn cobs are dangerous:

❌ Choking hazard
❌ Can cause intestinal blockages
❌ Dogs can’t properly digest the cob
❌ Sharp pieces may damage the stomach or intestines
❌ May require emergency surgery to remove

Many dogs are attracted to butter, seasoning, and leftover food smells — so they may try swallowing large chunks whole.

If your dog eats part of a corn cob, contact your veterinarian immediately, especially if you notice:
⚠️ Vomiting
⚠️ Loss of appetite
⚠️ Lethargy
⚠️ Constipation
⚠️ Abdominal pain

Enjoy that Indiana sweet corn safely this summer! 🌽☀️
