🐾💙 The Heroes Behind The Paws: Get To Know Our Team! 💙🐾

It's Veterinary Technician Appreciation Week, and we're shining a spotlight on the amazing people who work hard every day to keep your furry family members happy, healthy, and loved! 🐶🐱

Our technicians spend their days caring for your furry family members, but what do you know about the people behind the scrubs? We've gathered some fun facts about our incredible team to help you get to know them a little better! 🐾

💙 Meet The Team!

🐘 Alisa — She's been a licensed technician for a little over a year! If she could hang out with her favorite animal, she'd choose an elephant. When she's not at work, she loves Thai food and spends time with her dog and cat. 🐶🐱

🌮 Alicia — Two years of licensed technician experience and a love for dogs AND bearded dragons! 🐕🦎 Mexican food is her favorite, and she's got two doggos waiting for her at home.

🌮 Annie — Our wonderful practice manager has been a licensed technician for over 24 years! She's a cat and guinea pig fan, a taco enthusiast, and proud pet parent to a Chihuahua mix and one very well-loved, fluffy-in-more-ways-than-one cat! 😹🐶

🦊 Chloe — With 8 years of licensed technician experience, she's a fan of foxes and dogs! Add BBQ to the menu, and she's happy. At home, she's outnumbered by two cats and one doggo. 🐱🐱🐶

🍝 Christina — Three years of licensed technician experience and a soft spot for kittens! 🐱 Pasta is her food of choice, and cats are part of her life outside the hospital, too. 💕

🐈 Erin — A licensed technician for 20 years! Her favorite animals are cats, her favorite food is Indian food, and she shares her home with two feline friends. 🐱🐱

🐆 Peter — Over 6 years of licensed technician experience! He's a cheetah fan, enjoys curry, and shares his home with one cat and one dog. 🐆🐱🐶

🦦 Valeria — She's been a licensed technician for 8 years! Her favorite animal is the playful otter, soul food tops her favorite-food list, and she has a Beagle at home. 🦦🐶

💙 Every one of these amazing team members brings their own experience, personality, and compassion to caring for your pets. We're so grateful for all they do—not just during Appreciation Week, but every single day!

👇 Now It’s Your Turn! 👇

Let's show our heroes some love! Leave a 💙 in the comments or share a favorite memory of one of our amazing technicians!

🐾💙 It’s Veterinary Technician Appreciation Week! 💙🐾

Have you ever wondered what a veterinary technician actually does? The answer is… A LOT more than cuddles and treats! ❤️

Veterinary technicians are an essential part of your pet’s healthcare team. They work alongside our veterinarians every day to provide skilled, compassionate care to the animals who walk through our doors. 🐶🐱

Did you know? Our veterinary technicians at Hayfield Animal Hospital are licensed professionals! This means they have obtained and maintain the required license to practice veterinary technology. Their education, training, and dedication make them an invaluable part of our team. 🎓💙

🩺 Some of the many things our veterinary technicians do include:
•Monitoring patients and obtaining vital signs
•Administering medications, injections, and vaccines
•Drawing blood and placing IV catheters
•Performing laboratory testing
•Assisting with X-rays and diagnostic procedures
•Monitoring anesthesia during surgical and dental procedures
•Assisting with dental cleanings and treatments
•Caring for hospitalized patients and monitoring their recovery
•Assisting during emergencies
•Educating pet owners about medications, treatments, nutrition, and at-home care
•Providing comfort to nervous, frightened, sick, and injured pets when they need it most

But their job is about so much more than medical skills alone. 💙
Veterinary technicians are often the ones holding your pet’s paw as they wake up from anesthesia, finding just the right treat to win over a nervous patient, carefully monitoring a hospitalized pet, or providing extra love and reassurance when an animal is away from their family.

They are nurses, phlebotomists, laboratory technicians, anesthetists, dental technicians, radiology assistants, patient advocates, educators, problem-solvers, and professional animal snugglers — sometimes all in the same day! 🐾

This week, we’re especially proud to celebrate the incredible veterinary technicians who help make everything we do possible. Their knowledge, technical skills, compassion, patience, and teamwork help our veterinarians provide the best possible care while ensuring our patients feel safe and supported along the way.

So help us celebrate all week long! Follow our page throughout the week for special posts celebrating our incredible veterinary team. We’ll be sharing more about what they do and giving them the recognition they deserve! 💙🐾
