UPDATE: We have completed our appication/resume screening and reached out to our top choices for interviews. Thank you everyone for the interest in the position. We had a very large number of applicants and even had some with prior kennel assisting experience! I will keep applications on file and reach out if we have any openings in the future.

WE ARE HIRING A PART TIME KENNEL ASSISTANT.

Great opportunity for a student considering a career as a veterinarian or veterinary technician to explore the field or any responsible individual looking for part time work.
The position is responsible for walking and caring for hospitalized and boarding pets, doing laundry, mopping floors, and overall cleaning of the clinic. The hours are three weekdays a week (Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday) from 4:30 to 6:30 pm and every other weekend for approximately 4 to 5 hours (cleaning and then caring for the animals in the morning and afternoon). You will work additional days and/or hours to cover the position for the other kennel assistant when they need time off (and they will also do this for the person hired). Also must be able to cover on holidays if the holiday falls on a scheduled work day. This is a year round position and works well for students in the FFA and band/choir extra-curricular activities.
The position pays $15 an hour. Must be at least 16 years of age, be responsible and have dependable transportation. This dog was found running along Highway 94 by our clinic late this afternoon. He appears to be 2 to 3 years old and is an intact male. We are keeping him overnight so he won't be out in the bitter cold. Please share so we can get him back to his owner instead of having to turn him over to animal control.
