Good girl Tina A1940395 recently went on a Doggy Day out with Volunteer Bee. Here's what Bee had to say about all the fun they had....
"Hi!
After a walk on the golf course to burn off some of the wiggles, Tina loaded up into my car enthusiastically. We headed to Big Barn CrossFit so the human could workout, but Tina just charmed everyone. We shared an apple too! Tina met the gym dog, Polly, calmly. There was a lot of noise and new people in the gym so she was initially a little shy and Velcro dog on me. I don’t mind that even a little bit. After a while, she relaxed and met several people. She is quiet, not one bark the entire afternoon.
After the gym, we went for a walk at Montgomery Park and spent some time people watching from a bench in the shade. Tina was attentive and curious about the many people and dogs but very calm on leash and never pulled.
Next stop, Flying Star for lunch and a gourmet pup cup. Tina and I shared the sweet potato fries, too. She did very well inside, to include a bathroom stop so I could wash my hands.
In the gym, Tina seemed to understand “wait” if I needed to walk away from her. She would wait patiently without pulling or getting anxious. “Wait” did not work in the car! When the door opened, she was ready to get out and do whatever was next! She knows sit but charges a treat tax before complying.
She was a joy to spend the afternoon with. ❤️"
Meet Tina!
Personality: Brindle Goofball with a Soft Side
Tina is a stunning Dutch Shepherd mix with a gorgeous brindle coat and just the right amount of fluff to make her extra huggable. At first glance she might look a little serious, like she’s contemplating important life decisions… but step into the play yard with her and you’ll quickly discover she’s actually a world-class goofball.
Out in the yard, Tina transforms into a joyful derp. She’ll chase tennis balls with determination… occasionally forgetting the “catching” part entirely. Then it’s off to sniff around like a tiny detective before launching into a round of zoomies that would make any track star proud.
After she’s gotten the sillies out, Tina’s favorite move is wandering over and gently placing her head right into your lap, like she’s saying, “Okay, playtime is over. It is now the cuddling portion of the program.”
Fun Fact: Tina’s tennis ball strategy is less about catching the ball and more about dramatically pursuing it with enthusiasm. Accuracy is optional, fun is guaranteed.
If you’re looking for a beautiful dog who can make you laugh in the yard and then melt into a sweet cuddle buddy afterward, Tina is ready to flop her fluffy brindle self right into your life.
You can meet Tina at our Eastside shelter.
