Doing some real-life training with my boy Noctis.

One of the biggest parts of our Board & Train program is getting dogs out into the real world. A dog that listens perfectly in the backyard but falls apart around people, shopping carts, loud noises, and new environments isn’t truly trained.

That’s why we spend time in places like Home Depot, where dogs learn to stay calm, focused, and responsive despite everything going on around them. Real obedience comes from practicing in real-life situations, not just in controlled environments.

Working on impulse control skills with Reno during a follow-up lesson. One thing we focused on was understanding that just because the leash gets picked up does not mean the command is over. Dogs have to learn to stay consistent and hold commands until they are clearly released.

These small details are a big part of creating clear communication, structure, and accountability in training. Even after our board and train dogs go home, we continue working with owners through lessons and support to help maintain and build on that progress long term.
