So sad and so true. No one thinks when they drop off a dog or breed another litter what that means for the thousands of dogs that end up in Shelters. They lie to their kids and themselves by saying " they are better off here so they find a "better family" who has time for them. But the truth is most likely they will end up dead, euthanized because they were sad, or to many of that breed there already, or because they were scared and she'd away or scared and tried to defend themselves from the load unknown and loud unfamiliar atmosphere they didn't have at your house, and with no one there who loves them to support them left with the feeling of abandonment and probably wondering what they did wrong to be left in such a place, with all these dogs who sound so mean, and not knowing if they are safe at all. Day after day, week after week, looking to see if these next people who pass by are you coming back for them always hopeful with each one that passes them by. Until that's gone, and they just die inside or really die when they are euthanized. Its not a pain free way to die either. Let people say what they will but the fear they feel going into that room dogs know what's about to happen to them "fear is inflicted, panic sets in, they are usually held down by one or more people to tie them to table so they can kill them. There is not one of these healthy dogs that dont try to fight, cry, panic, bite, or wiggle away from them and then they are poked with a huge needle in their leg but they are tied down not able to defend themselves by this time usually crying out of fear no one who is in that room with them give a damn about them. Then they "fall asleep" and their heart is stopped not naturally so things happen to their bodies they jerk, they spasm. These are healthy beautiful dogs who never asked to be someone's source of income. . To be some little cute puppy then thrown away when they weren't cute no more. Honestly would rather see them with homeless without a home but with someone who would give up anything for them to be alive. People with homes are the ones bringing them into the shelter to Owner surrender them. Very few homeless give up on their dogs. Yes some have no business owning dogs at all. But the ones who do its beautiful to see how much they give up for them.
