⚠️ Lake life is amazing, but there's a hidden danger your pet could encounter this summer.
Blue-green algae (also called cyanobacteria) is showing up in local lakes and ponds, and it can be deadly to dogs even in small amounts. Just a few licks or a quick swim can cause serious illness within minutes.
What to watch for:
Vomiting, seizures, weakness, trouble breathing, or blue/pale gums after your pet has been near water.
What to do: If your pet swims in or drinks water that looks greenish, foamy, or "pea soup" colored, rinse them off right away and call us immediately. Do NOT wait to see if symptoms develop.
There is no antidote. Fast action saves lives.
