This sweet patient came to us for a second opinion after experiencing persistent head shaking, sneezing, epistaxis (nosebleeds), and discharge from the right nostril.

🐱This sweet kitty came to us for coughing, but the cause turned out to be much more unusual than expected!🔬

X-rays revealed bullae (air-filled pockets) within the chest, and further testing uncovered TWO parasites:

🦎🐸 Spirometra — commonly acquired from eating infected lizards or frogs
🦞 Paragonimus kellicotti (lung fluke) — acquired from eating infected crawfish

Yes… a cat’s hunting and snacking habits can sometimes lead to some pretty wild diagnoses! 😳

Cases like this are a great reminder that a cough isn’t always “just a cough.” Dr. Love and our team kept digging until we found the answer. ❤️🐾
