Announcing 📣 Georgia Master Naturalist Program
In collaboration with Chehaw Park & Zoo the Georgia Master Naturalist Program is being offered for the first time in the southwest Georgia. Topics are related to natural resources and environmental education (such as birding, ecology, water resources, rivers, forestry, native habitats, soil conservation, wildlife, etc.)

The Georgia Master Naturalist Program is a series 48-hour of adult citizen science educational program. Developed by the UGA Warnell School of Forestry & Natural Resources, the GA Master Naturalist program utilizes hands-on activities and field trips and allows participants to get outdoors. It is a flexible learning experience based on local needs and resources.

Program Dates: Wednesdays, October 14 - December 9, 2026; 9:00 am - 3:30 pm

Cool online class, no cost!

Free Online Course: Native plants used for natural dyes & inks, Tuesday, September 15, 12-1 pm. We are excited to announce the 2026 SOWEGA Master Naturalist Program in Dougherty County starting from October 14 to December 9, 2026 in collaboration with Chehaw Park & Zoo. If you are a nature enthusiast and are interested in learning about natural habitats and environment, you should consider becoming a Georgia Master Naturalist.
