These are the front paws of a kitty who was having trouble walking. See how her nails are growing into her toe pads? It is important to watch the nails of our older pets, both dogs and cats. Because of pain associated with osteoarthritis, geriatric pets move around less. As a consequence, the nails are not naturally filed down and can become like this picture, causing significant discomfort.

Dr. Haley has a special interest in geriatric pets. If you have a pet you are noticing slowing down as they age, make an appointment to have them examined. Make sure their last years are quality years.

I wanted to take a moment to thank our clients and friends who have reached out, checked in, and shown us patience and understanding while our Doc Doc was in the hospital. The concern for him and our family has meant more than I can adequately express.

My dad suffered a fall three weeks ago which resulted in a broken hip and required surgery. Unfortunately, he experienced some complications following surgery which extended his hospital stay longer than we had anticipated.

I am happy to share he has been in Camilla at a rehab facility where he has been working diligently at physical therapy. He continues to make progress and we are hopeful he will return home at the end of this week.

Thank you again for the prayers, kind words, and genuine concern . After a lifetime spent caring for the people and animals of this special community, it has been deeply meaningful to see the same care and compassion extended to him in return.

We thank you from the depths of our hearts,
Phyllis (aka Bunny), Holly, Haley, and the Gardner and Hydrick team (Renee, Martina, and Katelyn_
