As daylight decreases and routines change, some cats may nap more, while others become restless or look for extra ways to burn energy. A few simple enrichment activities can help keep them mentally stimulated and physically active all season long.

Try adding a cozy window perch for bird watching, scheduling a short interactive play session each day, or introducing a puzzle feeder to make mealtime more engaging. Small changes can make a big difference in your cat's overall well-being.

What does your cat love most: watching birds, chasing toys, or climbing to the highest spot in the house? Let us know! 🐱

Today, tomorrow, and every ordinary day in between. 🐾

Our technicians show up for every patient with the same patience, whether it is a nervous cat, a wiggly puppy, or a senior dog who needs a little extra time. We are so grateful for them this National Veterinary Technician Week and always. 💙

Has one of our techs made a difference for your pet? Let us know!

Cats are naturally designed to drink less water than many other animals, thanks to their desert-dwelling ancestors. 🐱 That low thirst drive can make staying hydrated a challenge, increasing the risk of urinary and kidney problems over time. Encourage healthy hydration by providing fresh water daily, offering moisture-rich wet food, or trying a pet water fountain. During National Pet Wellness Month, ask our team how to support your cat's kidney health.

Exercise doesn’t have to mean running miles! 🐾 Slow walks, swimming, sniff adventures, and enrichment games can help dogs stay active while being gentle on their joints. Every little bit of movement counts.

Decorating for fall? 🍁 Take a quick look inside every storage bin before sealing it up. Curious cats love cozy hiding spots and sometimes they’re a little too good at hiding.

Senior dogs deserve wellness care that evolves with them. 🐶❤️ As dogs age, exams may include bloodwork to uncover changes that aren't visible, joint and mobility assessments to evaluate comfort, and cognitive screening for behavioral or mental changes. These extra checks can help detect age-related concerns earlier and guide care for their changing needs. Schedule your senior dog's wellness exam today! https://riversedgepmc.com/contact/

🌿 Plants can brighten any space, but not all of them are safe for cats.

Before bringing a new plant into your home or garden, check whether it’s cat-friendly. Some common plants can be harmful if chewed or ingested, and fertilizers, pesticides, and plant treatments may also pose a risk.

Keep toxic plants out of your home, choose pet-safe products, and remember: placing a plant “out of reach” may not stop a curious climber! 🐱🪴

A little research can help your plants and your cat thrive safely together.

Could adoption myths be keeping you from your perfect match? 🐶💙

The right dog may not be the age, breed, or personality you originally pictured. Puppies aren’t always the easiest option, older dogs can learn new skills, and a dog’s time in a shelter doesn’t define how they’ll behave in a home.

Keep an open mind, ask questions, and focus on finding a dog whose needs, energy level, and personality fit your lifestyle. Your perfect match might surprise you!
