Did you know pets can have high blood pressure too? ๐Ÿฉบ๐Ÿพ

Just like in people, high blood pressure (hypertension) in pets can quietly damage important organs like the kidneys, eyes, heart, and brain โ€” often without obvious signs at first.

Some pets may show symptoms like:
โ€ข Sudden blindness or vision changes
โ€ข Increased thirst or urination
โ€ข Confusion or restlessness
โ€ข Nosebleeds
โ€ข Seizures

High blood pressure is especially common in senior pets and pets with kidney disease, thyroid disease, or other chronic illnesses.

The good news? A simple, non-invasive blood pressure check can help us catch problems early and keep your pet feeling their best. Ask us about adding a blood pressure screening to your petโ€™s next visit! โค๏ธ

Early detection can make a big difference ๐Ÿ’™

Did you know we now offer cancer screening through a simple blood test? This quick, non-invasive test can help identify potential concerns earlierโ€”often before pets show any signs at home.

Itโ€™s as easy as adding it onto routine bloodwork during your petโ€™s visit, with no extra stress for you or your pet.

If youโ€™re interested in learning more or adding this screening to your petโ€™s next appointment, give us a callโ€”weโ€™re happy to help you stay one step ahead when it comes to your petโ€™s health ๐Ÿพ

๐ŸŒฟ Not all plants are pet-safe!

Pets love to sniff, chew, and explore, so itโ€™s important to make sure the plants in your home wonโ€™t harm them if nibbled. While many are harmless, some can pose serious risks.

Our experts at ASPCA Poison Control have put together a guide to help you spot safe vs. dangerous plants so you can decorate with peace of mind: Read more here: https://bit.ly/3UgncN3

Deadly fungal disease that attacks bats detected for first time in Oregon (Benton and Columbia counties).

A deadly fungal disease that has put at least one bat species on the federal Endangered Species List has been detected in Oregon for the first time.

State Fish and Wildlife officials on Wednesday announced that scientists from the National Wildlife Health Center in March identified six bats in Columbia and Benton counties suffering from white-nose syndrome.

The scientists at each agency will work together to continue monitoring and identifying sites where bats might be infected and coordinate care for the bats with wildlife rehabilitators and the Oregon Veterinary Diagnostic Laboratory at Oregon State University, according to a news release.
