🦷 Did You Know? Your Pet's Dental Health Affects More Than Just Their Teeth! ❤

Dental disease is one of the most common health problems we see in dogs and cats, but it doesn't stop at bad breath.

When bacteria from infected gums and diseased teeth enter the bloodstream, they can travel throughout the body. Over time, this bacteria and inflammation may contribute to damage in vital organs, including the heart, kidneys, and liver. Pets with advanced dental disease can also experience chronic pain, difficulty eating, and a lower quality of life.

Signs your pet may have dental disease include:
🐾 Bad breath
🐾 Red or bleeding gums
🐾 Yellow or brown tartar buildup
🐾 Loose or broken teeth
🐾 Difficulty chewing or dropping food

🩸 Tiny Ticks, Big Threats! 🩸

Did you know that both people and pets can get blood parasites and other serious diseases from tick bites?

When an infected tick feeds, it can transmit microscopic parasites and bacteria into the bloodstream. These organisms can damage red blood cells and cause illness ranging from mild to life-threatening.

Signs of tick-borne disease in pets may include:
🐾 Lethargy
🐾 Fever
🐾 Pale gums
🐾 Loss of appetite
🐾 Weakness
🐾 Lameness or joint pain

In people, symptoms can include:
🩺 Fever
🩺 Chills
🩺 Fatigue
🩺 Muscle aches
🩺 Headaches

The best defense is prevention!
✔️ Keep your pets on year-round tick prevention.
✔️ Check yourself and your pets for ticks after spending time outdoors.
✔️ Remove ticks as soon as possible using fine-tipped tweezers.
✔️ Contact your veterinarian if your pet develops signs of illness after a tick bite.

Remember: Your dog or cat doesn't spread these diseases directly to you, but the same ticks that bite our pets can also bite us. Protecting your pets from ticks helps reduce the risk for the entire family.
