🐾💉 AUGUST IS NATIONAL PET IMMUNIZATION MONTH! 💉🐾

Keeping your pets vaccinated is one of the easiest and most important ways to protect them from serious—and sometimes life-threatening—diseases. ❤️🐶🐱

✨ Why are vaccines important?
Vaccinations can help protect your pet against diseases such as:
🐾 Rabies
🐾 Parvovirus
🐾 Distemper
🐾 Canine hepatitis
🐾 Leptospirosis
🐾 Feline panleukopenia
🐾 Feline herpesvirus & calicivirus
…and other preventable illnesses.

💉 Vaccines don’t just protect your pet! Keeping pets appropriately vaccinated also helps protect other animals and people in our community by reducing the spread of contagious diseases.

📋 What about the laws?
Rabies vaccination is required by law for dogs and cats in Georgia. Pets must be kept current on their rabies vaccination according to Georgia law and local requirements. A current rabies vaccine is also important if your pet travels, boards, attends daycare, or visits places where proof of vaccination may be required.

⚠️ Vaccine requirements and recommended vaccines can vary based on your pet’s age, lifestyle, health, travel, and exposure risks. Your veterinarian can help create the right vaccination schedule for your pet.

🐶🐱 Is your pet due for vaccines? Give Westover Animal Hospital a call at 229-883-1618 to check your pet’s vaccine records and schedule an appointment!

❤️ Healthy pets start with prevention!
Keep those vaccines up to date and give your furry family members the protection they deserve! 🐾💉
