Please allow me to introduce our Grrreendog Dog of the Week... HOLLY E.! 🎉🐶

Her preferred pronouns are Miss Esmay and Pretty Girl. 💕

And this girl knows how to have fun AND how to enforce her boundaries. 😂

Holly E. loves her pack, enjoys a good romp, and knows how to communicate when she's had enough or when another dog needs to back it up a little.

That's an important part of healthy dog-to-dog communication.

Play isn't just about running, wrestling, and having fun.

It's also about reading the other dog, respecting their boundaries, and knowing when to say, "That's enough, friend."
Holly E. is pretty good at that. 😉

This week, we're celebrating Miss Esmay, our Pretty Girl, and all the personality she brings to our pack.

Charlie, Trevor, and Gabriel are having themselves a friendly little round of ball play today! 🏀🐶

A little chase.
A little competition.
A whole lot of happy energy.

Ball play gives the pups a chance to move their bodies, engage their brains, practice focus, and enjoy some healthy play with their friends.

And let's be honest...
Who needs an actual basketball court when you've got the Grrreendog sunlight room? 😂

🐾💚 Look at this HAPPY REUNION!

Brutus and Scarlett are welcoming Copley back into the pack, and what makes this reunion so beautiful is the healthy, respectful hello they're having.

NOSE FIRST. 👃🐶

For dogs, scent is information.

Their sense of smell is incredibly powerful, and they use scent to gather information about who another dog is, where they've been, how they're feeling, and whether they're familiar.

So when Copley comes back after his summer vacation, his friends don't need to rush up and tackle him with excitement.

They can sniff. Gather information. Remember. Reconnect.

And look at what happens when we give them the space to communicate in their own language.

Those soft, wiggly bodies.
Those happy, loose tails.
Those relaxed approaches.

Nobody is stiff.

Nobody is overwhelming the other.

They're simply saying...

"Hey! I remember you!" 🥰🐾

THIS is what healthy dog-to-dog communication can look like.

And honestly, watching a pack welcome one of their own home?

Pure joy. 💚
