Now and then something really good happens and you know that your efforts have paid off!
Eight or so years ago, a good friend of mine and I decided to mate our dogs... his Dixie and my FC Royalerun Sam Adams. We had high hopes for the litter, and especially for the 2 little girls that we retained. I kept Sunny and he kept Lucy. Later on, because of work requirements, I obtained Lucy.
I met a fine young trainer at a field trial and told him about those 2 girls and he took them on, working on their training and confidence. It didn't take long and they became hunting machines and those 2 GSP girls fell in love with Jason King and the field trial game.
Well... this weekend Sunny became FC Red Oaks Sunshine von Heidbrink (pending AKC notification) and Lucy is not far behind her. We wait and watch for these sisters to both have the coveted FC in front of their names.
