Yesterday we said "see you later" to board and train Paris. Paris came to us with no prior training history. Paris struggles with people being overstimulating and has a strong desire to connect. In order to help him feel less overwhelmed with humans we worked with him on how to feel calm around people. We sent him home giving his owner the tools he needs to help him feel more at peace around humans.
We can't wait to see you continue to grow little dude!

🐾 when a dog can give a good deep metered bark on command they can breathe well.🐾

What does this mean?
This means when the dog feels pressured they can absorb it and reflect it back.

What if they can't bark on command?
A dog that can't give a deep metered bark under pressure cannot absorb the pressure in that moment. Basically, it means the dog does not feel in control of their body. Many times this will lead to the dog's need to bite because they need to release the pressure somewhere in order to feel balanced again. It could also be expressed in a variety of other ways such as destroying toys, zoomies, or the not so desirable high pitch yappy barks.

We want to help owners help their dogs feel in control of themselves again. We want to empower our dogs with the skills they need to cope with our human world. 🐶

To understand how to connect and train your dog you need to recognize that dogs live in the immediate moment.🐾

Dogs that are "anxious" or having a hard time need to be able to feel like they can move well in any given moment. To help them get there you need change their movement and therefore you change the moment.

🐾✨ Don't worry about being perfect. There is no such thing. 🐾✨

Dog training has a lot of ups and downs. The path to a better dog is paved with progress and set backs. Coexisting with dogs require understanding that the relationship is a constant work in progress. Don't get down about the setbacks, just strive to do better tomorrow.

🐾A general rule of thumb is you want to model your indoors as the calm collected space for your dog and outside equals work/play. Setting these boundaries/roles sets your dog up for success when the indoors become exciting. It will make it easier when you have guests over or when the doorbell rings.🐾
