Support your cause while enjoying the sights and sounds of your Akron Zoo! We are currently booking charity walks for 2027. Walk organizers and guests will have exclusive access to the zoo grounds, and animals will be in their outdoor habitats beginning at 9 a.m.

Happy World Otter Day! The North American river otter is native to Ohio, but the species was almost entirely eliminated from our state in the early 1900s. In 1986, the species was reintroduced to four watersheds. By 2002, the otter was removed from Ohio's endangered animal list.

In recent years, otters have been spotted in the Cuyahoga River! If you're lucky enough to spot one in their natural habitat, remember to give them their space.
