Carracanada Bay ❤️ Connemara Ponies
A whirlwind, 48 hour visit with Caroline Nesbitt. The bond between Caroline and her pony is amazing. One snuffle and he knew!He has been in training with me since June 15, and has consistently shown his incredible mind and temperament; he is only 3, and a stallion. We loaded him up early Friday morning and went to The Vista to explore. There were many triggers (scary sprinklers, mowers, and horses he did not know, trotting, cantering and jumping) but other than growing 3 hands taller, never took a wrong step. The obstacles were easy peasy for this talented boy. This morning made my heart so happy: Caroline mounted up and rode her own pony. She never thought she’d be would ride him, but as he is so solid, here we are. Congratulations Caroline, you have a special pony and I can’t wait to see his babies!!!!! Nesbitt

Carracanada Bay ❤️. ❤️Connemara ponies
Another two weeks of training and he continues to grow! Keeping it simple. Still adding building blocks to his foundation, the pace slow and steady, with growth as the goal. It is always a challenge with a talented young horse like Mr. C. , not to rush through the basics. Because he’s only three years old, he has only been backed a handful of times. Sticking to the basics of standing while being mounted, steering 101 and minimal trotting under saddle. Manners 101 for farrier and worming. More Liberty work over polls, double lunging adventures out of the round pen, and obstacle in-hand work. Always keeping in mind that the foundation cannot have any holes in it; we go back revisit and add more complicated questions. A huge thank you to Caroline Nesbitt@ for understanding and agreeing with the slow and steady pace. The benefit of a solid foundation that this young stallion is developing will set him up for success!

Carracanada Bay ❤️ Connemaras. The past two weeks of this handsome boy’s training has flown by! He has been backed two more times, and is becoming more confident under saddle and is now trotting and turning. Despite the temptation to ride him more, his age and his foundation development take priority! In hand manners work, liberty training, double lunge over poles, baby jumps, in hand walkabouts, and continuous exploration of possible scaries, all help build a solid foundation for this amazing stallion. Thank you, Caroline Nesbitt for entrusting me to develop this boy.

Carracanada Bay ( Ross Fear Bui x Kilkelly Lady, by Corbally Star) Imported Connemara stallion. Carracanada (I nicknamed Candyman) arrived to CWF on June 15. The first month of his foundation training covered basic manners 101, leading like a gentleman (even when the girls flirted with him), cross tying, bathing, self loading, bitting, liberty work, double lunging, desensitizing, ground driving, saddling and his first walk under saddle. This stallion truly has a super mind, athleticism, intelligence and a sweet personality. I am grateful for Caroline Nesbitt for her trust in me to work with this handsome 3 year old. She understands that I will only ask for more from Candyman when he is ready. I am so impressed by Candyman’s progress! Looking forward to what next month brings! #❤️connemaraponies
