At every horse trial, there is a group of hardworking officials in the background making each moment possible. We are so excited to feature some of these individuals on our channels so you can get to know them a little better. This month we are featuring Jamie Gornall ❤️

⭐ This Vermont native decided to pursue becoming a licensed course designer after spending nearly two decades as a builder. "I always had interest in the design aspect," he shared. "So it seemed like it was time!"

⭐ Jamie plays a lot of double-duty, often building many of the courses he designs. While it's not always easy work, the memorable days of cross-country over the years have made it worth it! We think Jamie puts it best: "There's not much better than watching horses gallop and jump big fences!"

⭐ There are so many reasons that becoming an official is rewarding, but Jamie says it narrows down to two factors for him: "It is a really great group of people that care so much about the sport and it is rarely ever dull!"

⭐ Jamie's dream place to compete is Morven Park: "It's all that cross-country should be and one of the best venues in the world."
