Your dog needs to hear โ€œnoโ€ just as much as they hear โ€œyesโ€. Dogs need to know when they are wrong, not only when they are right. If your dog never hears the word โ€œnoโ€, when the real world throws you a curveball youโ€™re going to be stuck with either a panicked dog or an overly reactive dog. Dogs need boundaries, they need to know right vs wrong, they need to understand there are consequences to poor behaviors and choices. Dogs that understand the difference between yes and no are the dogs truly thriving in the world as they have a clear understanding of their expectations and understand the language well.
