Kat the Dog Trainer

I had the incredible opportunity to sit down with Victoria Stilwell today for a conversation about dog training, behavior, and the future of our industry. It was truly an honor to learn from someone who has had such a profound impact on positive reinforcement training. Grateful for the opportunity and inspired to keep growing.

Would your dog come back?

10/21/2025

PSA 🐾

This morning while walking my two (leashed) dogs, a neighbor’s dog came flying out of their garage and ran straight at us. Everyone’s okay, but I ended up with multiple bite wounds to my hand, a tetanus shot, and 10 days of antibiotics.

Please train your dogs not to rush doors — and always keep them on leash. It only takes a second for things to go wrong.

Door manners, recall, and leash skills aren’t just obedience, they’re safety. My own dogs will likely have some new stress around other dogs after this, which we’ll work through with patience and positive reinforcement.

Stay safe out there, and if your dog struggles with these same skills, I’m here to help. ❤️🐾
