Today is World Pet Memorial Day, and we're holding space for everyone who has lost a pet.

The animals we care for here leave paw prints on our hearts too. We remember the ones who came through our doors, the ones who fought hard, and the ones whose families loved them every step of the way.

If you're missing someone today, you don't have to explain it to anyone. That love was real.

Share a story or favorite photo with us in the comments. We'd love to remember them with you. ❤️

Reviews like these never get old.

We're grateful to Nina for sharing her experience and for trusting Dr. Garcia and our team with her dog's care.

Helping pets through difficult diagnoses and seeing them return home to their families is why we do what we do. Thank you for your kind words, Nina, and for allowing us to be part of your pet's journey. ❤️

June is here, and in Southern California that means wildfire season is just getting started. If your emergency plan doesn't include your pets yet, this week is a good time to change that.

Think about what you'd grab if you had 10 minutes to leave. Food, water, medications, a copy of their records, a carrier, and our number should all be within reach. A recent photo of your pet saved on your phone is also worth having in case you get separated.

We see firsthand during local evacuations how quickly things can change. And if you ever need us during an emergency, our team is here 24/7.

Last week we celebrated three years of caring for pets and being there for the people who love them most. 🐾

We’re incredibly thankful to every family who has trusted us with their pets over the years. It’s been an honor to be part of this community and care for so many patients along the way.

Thank you for your trust, support, and continued confidence in our team.

This Memorial Day, we remember and honor those who made the ultimate sacrifice for our country. 🇺🇸

As many families gather and travel over the holiday weekend, we also want pet owners to know that our team remains here whenever they’re needed.

Western Veterinary Center is open 24/7, including Memorial Day, to provide emergency and critical care for pets throughout the holiday weekend.

Wishing everyone a safe and meaningful Memorial Day.

Heading into the weekend with your pets? A little extra caution around cookouts and gatherings can go a long way.

While it can be tempting to share food with your pets, many common BBQ items — including cooked bones, onions, grapes, alcohol, and foods containing xylitol — can be dangerous for dogs.

As you enjoy the holiday weekend, remember to:
• Keep unsafe foods out of reach
• Make sure pets have plenty of fresh water
• Avoid hot pavement during peak temperatures
• Never leave pets unattended in the car

If something unexpected happens, we’re open 24/7 and here when you need us.

During wildfires, even subtle changes in your pet can matter.

Poor air quality and evacuation-related stress can impact pets more than many people realize — especially senior pets, brachycephalic breeds, and pets with underlying conditions.

If something feels off, our team is here for you 24/7.

Ticks are present in Southern California, even if tick-borne diseases aren’t as common here as in other parts of the country.

That doesn’t mean there’s no risk.

If you find a tick or notice changes like limping, low energy, or decreased appetite, it’s worth getting your pet checked.
