Did you know Oct 1st is ? I bet you also didn't know it was created to spread awareness for black dogs - who (along with black cats) struggle the most to get adopted from shelters and rescues. Being a medium to large sized black dog makes it even harder! Suzie and Cedric are both waiting patiently for adopters to choose them. Please give them a like and a share even if you can't adopt! Their people are out there somewhere!

For more info about either Suzie or Cedric please send me a PM. Suzie is available for private rehoming through a friend of her former owner who sadly passed away last year. Cedric is available to foster or adopt through Smiles Forever Animal Rescue. Both are currently staying here on the farm with me.

This has become one of my favorite volunteer opportunities. If anyone wants to support a truly valuable community initiative - donating to Dogs Deserve Better Blue Ridge to support free spay/neuter and rabies clinics in central Va is a worthy cause worth your consideration. Especially with rising veterinary costs (and costs of living in general) this is something that is needed now more than ever. The folks who attend these clinics are always so appreciative and this really is making a difference!

A little Butter, Cedric & Suzie montage to remind you that these 3 couch surfers are still searching for that perfect permanent couch! They would also settle for a lap or a lazy boy or even a large ottoman. They're not picky about where they park it. They just want a home! Want more info? Inquire with in!

Cedric is the black pittie boy sandwiched between Butter and Suzie. He is available through Smiles Forever Animal Rescue

If after that hint you don't know which dog is Butter and which is Suzie you probably shouldn't apply to adopt a dog. Or even a hermit crab. You likely already expend far too much brain power trying to remember to put pants on. A dog is significantly more of a commitment than pants . . But I digress.

Butter (the handsome blonde boy for any pantsless dumb dumbs who are still reading) is available to foster or adopt through Dogs Deserve Better Blue Ridge

Suzie (black lab ish mix) is available to adopt through private agreement with her rescuer (who sponsors her boarding here as she is not able to house Suzie herself).
