🐾❤️ Veterinary Technician Week ❤️🐾

This week, we’re celebrating our very own LVT, Jayme Miller! 🩺🐶 Being a veterinary technician is so much more than a job. It means being there for animals when they need us most, helping them feel safe and comfortable, celebrating their good days, and giving them love and compassion even when they aren’t feeling their best. ❤️🐾

Jayme dedicates her time and heart to caring for our patients, and we’re so thankful to have someone who is passionate about working with animals as part of our team!

And if you know Jayme, you know she has a special place in her heart for GREAT DANES! 🐾💙 The bigger the dog, the better! 😉

🎂 We also have an extra reason to celebrate because Jayme’s birthday is THIS SATURDAY! 🥳

❤️ A BIG THANK YOU to all the veterinary technicians and veterinary professionals out there! 🐾 Your hard work, long hours, compassion, and dedication to caring for animals do not go unnoticed. Veterinary medicine comes with challenges that not everyone sees, but the love you have for your patients makes a difference every single day. Thank you for everything you do for the animals and the people who love them! 🩺🐶🐱

Happy Veterinary Technician Week

A dog's nose can go from wet to dry throughout the day for perfectly normal reasons, including sleeping, weather, activity, and hydration.

Instead of judging health by nose moisture alone, watch your dog's overall behavior and symptoms.

If a dry nose is accompanied by lethargy, appetite changes, vomiting, discharge, cracking, sores, or other concerns, call (517) 265-7188.

Sometimes gradual weight gain is hard to notice when you see your pet every day.

A healthy body condition involves more than the number on the scale. Your veterinarian can evaluate your pet's ribs, waist, body shape, muscle condition, age, and lifestyle to determine an appropriate weight range.

Wondering where your pet falls? Call (517) 265-7188 to schedule a wellness visit.

Dogs don't always show stress by barking or trying to escape. Their signals can be much more subtle.

Repeated yawning, lip licking, turning away, trembling, tucked tails, flattened ears, or suddenly refusing treats may all be ways your dog is communicating discomfort.

Learning to recognize those early signals allows us to make experiences more comfortable. Have concerns about your dog's behavior or anxiety? Call (517) 265-7188.

Cats may be more independent in some ways, but they still need plenty of care and enrichment. Playtime, scratching opportunities, clean litter boxes, appropriate nutrition, dental care, and routine veterinary visits all contribute to a healthy life. Team cat, team dog, or team both? For pet care questions, call (517) 265-7188.

Friday was Boss day and on the spotlight is Dr.Dawn and her husband Don!

❤️ A little appreciation post for the people behind our clinic! ❤️🐾

It’s hard to believe we’re already 8 months into this adventure! What started as a dream has turned into something so special, and we couldn’t be more grateful to be part of it.

Our team is lucky to have a boss who has worked hard, followed her dreams, and created a place where we can all come together to do what we love most: caring for animals and the people who love them. Some of us have had the privilege of working with her at previous clinics, so getting to be part of this new chapter has made it even more special! 🐶🐱

And we can’t forget her husband, who helped turn that dream into reality by putting in the work to build the clinic alongside her vision. It takes a lot of love, dedication, and hard work to create something like this, and we’re so thankful for everything they’ve done to make it possible. ❤️

A good clinic is about more than just the building. It’s about the people, the teamwork, the compassion, and the little family we build along the way. We’re proud of how far we’ve come in just 8 months and excited to see what the future holds!

Here’s to growing together, making a difference, and loving what we do every single day! 🐾💕

Dogs communicate constantly through body language. Tail position, ears, posture, facial expressions, vocalizations, and even how they move can give us clues about whether they’re relaxed, excited, nervous, or uncomfortable. Learning to recognize those signals can help you better understand your dog. Questions about a behavior change? Call (517) 265-7188.

Brushing at home is an excellent habit, but it can't remove hardened tartar or fully address disease below the gumline.

A veterinary dental procedure lets the mouth be thoroughly evaluated and the teeth cleaned above and below the gumline, where periodontal disease can develop unseen.

Is your pet due for a dental evaluation? Call (517) 265-7188.

Those little treats can add up faster than you think!

Treats should complement a nutritionally balanced diet, not become a major source of daily calories. Keep portions small and remember that chews, table scraps, and training rewards all count toward your dog's daily intake.

Concerned about your pet's weight or nutrition? Call (517) 265-7188.

We can only imagine what this cat is thinking! Cats communicate a lot without saying a word. Their ears, eyes, whiskers, tail, posture, and vocalizations can all offer clues about how they’re feeling. Learning your cat’s normal body language can even help you notice subtle changes sooner. Questions? Call (517) 265-7188.
