We have a few more open spots in our Horsemanship Classes that start THIS Wednesday, May 20. It’s a four week class series that meets at 2:00-3:15 OR 4:30-5:45.
Home School Horsemanship Classes:
There is so much to learn when it comes to horses! Horsemanship 101 is a non riding class designed to give the student a fun and safe experience using horses as our class partners.
Class topics include:
•Horse handling skills: Learn how to halter and lead a horse. Practice your skills through an obstacle course with a mini pony.
•Horse care: Grooming and first aid. Learn about the different brushes and how to use them. Practice bandage wrapping.
•Horse breeds and colors: Learn about different breeds and their characteristics. Meet these breeds in person and play a matching game to see if you can identify them correctly.
•Stable Management: Our motto is Friends, Freedom, and Forage. Learn about what this means and how our horses live. Help with the daily barn chores.
•Nutrition: What does a 1000 pound animal eat? Learn the science behind a horse’s diet and help feed the herd.
•Horse Communication: How do horses communicate? How do we connect with a horse using just our body? Students will work with a horse in a private session.
Join us for this four week series class.
We meet on Wednesdays, from 2:00-3:15 and 4:30-5:45.
All levels are welcome! If you have horse experience and want to join this class, we will meet you at your level with your horse match up and exercises. Ages 5 and up are welcome, with ages 5-7 needing a parent to accompany them.
