SH'S Boo Boo Bear. This compact young buck was my favorite, but his bigger brother Yogi decided to make sure his little brother couldn't outshine him on the show tables.

He is a cuddle buddy, & gave me zero issues with tending his ears. Now my debate is letting him go as a companion, or will someone want a herd buck that cannot be shown? I see tons of potential, and if you don't believe me view the comments...

Ah..the elusive "Prime Line", currently residing on a 7 month old doe off Gr.Ch Artie x Gr.Ch Haven. I set her aside as potential future brood doe, as well as her sister whom is an exact twin. I keep trying to tell myself we don't have room for both 😅

Nothing to see here just some foraging for snacks 🤣

Sad that the gardening season is winding down. I'm trying my best to gather the more delicate herbs, greens, and veggies before the frost gets them. I'm sure our rabbits will miss all the fresh goodies 😔

Some of our retires enjoying pet life in the house. Since Jesse, Queen B, Gambler and Paddington have passed away this last year we have Gr.Ch Silvia (Jesse's daughter/Gambler's full sister & Paddington's half sister ) Gr.Ch.Nita (Paddington's half sister through their Dam, Swade's Claire) and Brea (Paddington x his full sister Brianna) have taken their spots.

It fills us with pride as each new generation succeeds, but it sad to say goodbye to those that started the herd and our decent into the insanity of breeding and showing rabbits.

Responsible breeders (owners) vs. Hypocrite. We've declined ownership to homes with dogs in the past. Why? Because no 2 situations are identical and we put the best interest of the rabbits 1st.

Yes, OUR dogs are around OUR rabbits. We know our dogs (11 & 14 years old) and our rabbits. Not every rabbit, no matter the circumstances will adjust to being around dogs or other pets. Rabbits are Prey and dogs are predators. No matter the breed, it takes training, exposure, and the willingness of BOTH animals.

What we've observed in people who've made mistakes that lead to pet rabbits dying from dog attacks. Allowing "play", predators don't play with prey. It only takes seconds for a life ending injury. Lack of supervision. Knowing a rabbit in their cage is different than observation while loose. Everything is all good until it's not.

We haven't been concentrated on our shaded group. We have blue point, siamise sable and sable point does but only one sable point buck left after losing Gambler and Wyatt to age. So we've just been using our torte and black bucks, and after more than a few test breedings I don't really think any are shaded carriers 😔

There are always up and downs in trying raise show rabbits, and color projects can be extra challenging. Going over past and present rabbits, I feel like they are worth it. Sometimes we just have to be selfish and do something for ourselves just because we love it.
