TL; DR - KEEP YOUR DOG ON THE LEASH!

Walking sweet Beau, and we just encountered a man who decided to take his large dog off the leash in a public park area.

Beau has been attacked by large dogs in the past & as a result he is scared of most other dogs (especially large dogs). He will bark at them & try to “scare them off” if they get too close to him (within like 30 feet depending on the dog).

I walk him for an hour every day & stay very vigilant of our surroundings because of this. I do everything possible to keep him far away from other dogs while on our walks.

So, imagine both of our terror when this man’s LARGE dog comes barreling straight at us, showing his teeth, hair raised up... I’m falling over trying to pull Beau back before this dog can get to us.
The dog continued chasing us across the park.

Thank goodness it did not go farther than that somehow and I was able to get Beau away and around the corner.

Meanwhile, the guy is still chasing his dog down, while other people have now also entered the area with their dogs.

My point is this, I had seen this man take his leash off his dog from afar, and I did everything in my power to avoid the situation, but because he took his dog off the leash, there was simply no way to control the outcome! Even he was running around frantically, calling his dog, chasing his dog, trying to get the dog to stop and the dog clearly just thought it was a game...

KEEP 👏🏻 YOUR 👏🏻 DOG 👏🏻 ON 👏🏻 THE 👏🏻 LEASH! 👏🏻

Unless in a designated area obviously.

You may think you “know your dog” but you don’t know about so many other factors.

This could have been so much worse!

Help this baby get much needed items for her care! 💖🐶

“After a huge, devastating hurricane hit Texas, Merit was found among the debris with her spine shattered. She wasn't moving but seemed to be in obvious pain as rescuers scooped up her frail body.

Her little frame was also noticeably malnourished and thin.

Rescuers wasted zero time and rushed her to the hospital where doctors assessed both the fractures in her spine as well as her head injury.

Her medical teams declared that she would need reparative surgery and so, rescuers scheduled her and got it done right away.

Now, she's slowly recovering in a loving foster home. She has a long recovery road to travel, but it is entirely possible that she will walk again with your help and lots of hard work in her future.

We will keep everyone updated on this sweet angel.
