If you wonder why our adoption process is so long and detailed, it's to avoid situations like the one Ruby found herself in.

Ruby is an absolutely beautiful 1-year-old red female Doberman. She came to us after being surrendered to Chicago Animal Care & Control when her owners “didn’t have time” for her. She was surrendered with another dog so may be okay with other dogs (after a slow intro, of course). We do not have information regarding if she’s good with cats or children. If you would like to foster or adopt Ruby, please let us know.

This is why I keep telling people. DONOT USE ROVER!! OR ANY OTHER DOG WALKING APP.
Interview walking companies in your area and make sure they are insured, bonded and get references and call every single one.
I also tell people get cameras.

Some pet owners say there is a false sense of security when using Rover.com after their pets were neglected in the care of sitters found on the site.
