A few more from our Bred to Event Qualifier, showcasing talented young horses bred for the sport of eventing. It was exciting to see these promising horses demonstrate their conformation, movement, and jumping potential.

At the heart of this program are the breeders who thoughtfully produce the next generation of event horses, and the owners who believe in these young horses and provide the support, time, and resources needed to develop their potential. Their commitment is essential to the future of our sport, and Bred to Event is proud to recognize and celebrate their contributions.

Thank you to our breeders, owners, riders, judges, volunteers, and supporters for making the qualifier such a success.

Next up: Our final Bred to Event Qualifier is Friday, October 23, followed by the Bred to Event Championships, October 24–25 at Loch Moy Farm. We look forward to seeing the next generation of eventing stars!

Loch Moy’s Bred to Event is the Place to Be for Prospective Event Horses and their Breeders! Don't just take our word for it though... Here's what The Plaid Horse had to say:

"This exciting, up-and-coming program is designed to showcase the next generation of event horses and begin their careers. Bred to Event offers classes for yearlings through five-year-olds. They are shown in-hand, through a jump chute, or in under saddle classes, depending on their age and experience. Many breeders, owners, trainers, and competitors advocate for just how beneficial Bred to Event is for the sport of eventing. The dream is to make Bred to Event a destination, a place to showcase these talented horses, along with their connections."

One of the seasoned judges at Bred to Event is Susan Graham White, USEF “S” dressage and “R” dressage sport horse breeding judge. White, who is also a breeder and trainer in southern Maryland and a retired FEI eventing judge, says, “It is meant to be an ‘educational’ showcase for the breeders and their horses. A chance to get their young stock out for show mileage and expert feedback. It’s also a place for prospective buyers to scope out new prospects, basically a win/win for the eventing community.”

Victoria Miller, owner and trainer of Paragon Eventing in Virginia, looks to Bred to Event as a training opportunity. She says, “…our young horses…are getting to experience a proper venue from a weanling age, and I think that’s absolutely invaluable for them in their careers and in their development.”
