Excuse me while I introduce you to the ✨NEW✨ Axel. 😏✂️

This handsome boy came in looking like he was auditioning for “Before”… and left looking like he owns the whole dang place. 😂💅

We gave Mr. Axel what we lovingly call a Murphy Cut aka a pony cut — fluffy, fresh, ridiculously cute, and just the right amount of “I woke up like this.” 🐶✨

Because sometimes a dog doesn’t need a haircut…
He needs a FULL-BLOWN TRANSFORMATION. 🔥

Axel said: “I don’t know who Murphy is, but I’m fabulous.” 😂

🌞🔥 Georgia called... it wants its sauna back. 🥵🐾

If you can barely survive the walk from the grocery store to your car... imagine wearing a permanent fur coat.

Dogs and cats cannot cool themselves like we do. They mainly rely on panting and their paw pads to release heat, which means they can overheat fast—especially during a Georgia summer.

📊 Here's the scary part:
🐶 On an 85°F day, the inside of a parked car can reach over 100°F in just 10 minutes and 120°F or more within 30 minutes—even with the windows cracked.
🐾 Heatstroke can begin when a pet's body temperature rises above 104°F, and temperatures over 106°F can quickly become life-threatening.

🚫 No quick trips.
🚫 No "I'll only be a minute."
🚫 No cracked windows.
They are not enough.

Signs of heatstroke include:
🥵 Excessive panting
💧 Thick drool
😵 Weakness or stumbling
🤢 Vomiting
🚨 Collapse or becoming unresponsive

If you see a pet left in a non-running vehicle for an extended period of time, or you find an unresponsive pet, call 911 immediately. Minutes truly matter, and your phone call could save a life.

🦠 Let's talk rabies... Barney Style. 💜

Imagine rabies like a house fire.

🔥 If there's no fire, everyone is safe.
🔥 If there is a fire, it's a huge emergency.

Rabies works the same way. Most pets don't have it—but if one infected animal bites another animal or a person, the consequences can be life-threatening. Once symptoms appear, rabies is almost always fatal.

That's why keeping your pet's rabies vaccination up to date isn't just a good idea—it's required by law here in Georgia, and it's one of the best ways to protect your family, your pet, and everyone they come in contact with.

At Waggz N Whiskerz, we work hands-on with dozens of pets every week. We have to keep every client, every employee, and every furry friend as safe as possible.

🚨 No Rabies, No Appointment, No Exceptions. 🚨

If your pet's rabies vaccine is expired or we don't have proof of a current vaccination on file before your appointment, we'll need to reschedule until we receive updated records.

🐾 An Important Update from Waggz n Whiskerz 🐾

At Waggz n Whiskerz, the safety of our pets, clients, and staff will always come first.

As many of you know, Georgia has strict rabies vaccination requirements for dogs and cats. Under Georgia Code § 31-19-5, pets are required to be vaccinated against rabies by a licensed veterinarian.

Because of this, we will be strictly enforcing our rabies vaccination policy moving forward.

Effective immediately:

✔️ All pets must have a current rabies vaccination on file before any grooming services can be provided.

✔️ If your pet's rabies vaccination has expired, even by one day, an updated rabies vaccination will be required before your appointment.

This policy is not meant to be inconvenient—it is meant to protect everyone. Rabies is a fatal viral disease that can be transmitted from animals to humans and other animals through bites or exposure to infected saliva. Once symptoms appear, rabies is almost always fatal. Keeping pets vaccinated is one of the most effective ways to prevent the spread of this deadly disease.

In a grooming salon, pets and people share the same environment every day. An unvaccinated pet can create a serious health risk not only for our staff but also for every other pet in our care.

We love each and every member of the Waggz family, and we appreciate your understanding as we do our part to keep our salon safe, healthy, and compliant with Georgia law.

Waggz will be CLOSED on Memorial Day — May 30th — while we trade in the grooming tables for backyard BBQs, sunshine, and probably a hotdog mysteriously disappearing at dog-level height. 🌭🐾

Most importantly, we pause to honor and remember the brave men and women who gave everything for this country. ❤️🤍💙

We’ll be back making the pups fabulous after the holiday, fluffing tails and serving fresh summer glow-ups like the patriotic grooming goblins we are. ✨🦅

As much as we wish belly rubs and good vibes could pay the bills, the reality is that the cost of our shampoos, tools, and equipment has continued to climb (and not in a cute, wagging-tail kind of way). To keep delivering the same level of care, quality, and attention your pups deserve, we’ll be making a small adjustment to our pricing.

This wasn’t a quick or easy decision. We’ve done everything we can behind the scenes to absorb these increases, but in order to maintain the safe, clean, and top-tier grooming experience you know and trust, this step is necessary.
