This may be one of my favorite gifts, an Equine Eye. I have several events planned this summer hauling River solo, as well as wanting to keep a better eye on 30 year old Simon, who loves his stall in the summer. (Won’t stay in during winter, go figure) pretty impressed so far. **I get no commission for this.

Rest Is Part of Training (Not a Break From It)

Here’s something most people overlook:

Your horse learns MORE after training…than during it.

Why?

Because of memory consolidation.

During rest (especially sleep):
• The brain replays experiences
• Neural pathways strengthen
• Learning becomes permanent

Without proper rest:
❌ Learning fades
❌ Progress stalls
❌ Frustration increases

👉 Training doesn’t end when you stop.

It continues in the brain.

So sometimes the best thing you can do…

Is nothing at all.
