You know those dogs that make you wonder how anyone could leave them behind?
Meet Mickey. 👋
A couple of months ago, Mickey was found abandoned with a broken leg. 😞 He’d been on his own long enough that he was partly feral, scared, and unsure if people could be trusted. No one came looking for him. No one claimed him.
Instead of giving up, Mickey gave us a chance. 🥹
Every two weeks, Mickey made another trip to the vet for fresh X-rays, hoping his little leg was healing. There was a real chance he could lose it, but Mickey had other plans. With time, patience, and a lot of care, his leg healed beautifully without needing an amputation. 🎉
Today was the day we’ve been waiting for. 🤓
Mickey received the last piece of vetting he needed to be ready for adoption! 😁 He’s now heartworm negative, neutered, fully vaccinated, and microchipped. He is estimated at 1 1/2 years old!
And here’s the funny part…
For a dog that once thought humans were pretty suspicious, Mickey has turned into the kind of guy who would happily clock in and supervise you in the shop all day… as long as his paycheck comes in the form of snacks and belly rubs. 😂
He’s great with people, wonderful with other dogs, cat tested (and passed with flying colors!), submissive, and incredibly laid back. If you’re looking for a dog that’s happy just hanging out beside you, Mickey is your guy. 😎
It’s heartbreaking to think that someone left him behind when he’s this wonderful.
⭐️ He survived being abandoned.
⭐️ He survived a broken leg.
⭐️ He learned to trust again.
Now all he needs is someone who won’t leave him behind ever again.
