Hey Angel Nation! Duke Ranger is a big guy and just joined the pack at Angels Among Us Pet Rescue. Just look at that face! Kinda melts your heart, right? ❤️

St.Bernard’s tend to conjure up thoughts of snowy ski slopes in Europe where they were used for search and rescue back in the day. Can’t you just see him, equipped with that famous whiskey barrel under his chin to warm a lost skier?

Well, this 3 year old guy is more of a dog bed lounger. He doesn’t even bother getting on the couch. He’s a sniffer dog, checking out all points of interest and also loves a good swim. I guess he prefers the snow in liquid form! That’s about the extent of his adventurous lifestyle.

He now needs to be brought up to date on preventative meds, vaccines and a neuter too. After all that, he’ll be ready for a forever home.

Is this not the cutest little box of puppies you’ve ever seen?

We got a call yesterday saying that there was a family with a litter of puppies desperately looking for a place for them to go. They had tried finding families for them and had even tried local shelters to no avail…. They felt they were out of options. We scrambled together a plan and the pups came to us last night. The owners were so grateful, and we’ll be covering spay and neuters for all adult dogs (at this point in time we know of 3) at their house to try to keep this from happening again.

We rarely get to know the breed make up of the dogs we take but when we asked the owners if they know what the parents are they said “Oh we know exactly what they are!”. So, these babies are reportedly chiweenie/jack russell terrier/poodle mixes! There are six of them and they are all ADORABLE ❤️ They’re around 11 weeks old and once we’ve gotten them caught up on vetting they’ll be available for adoption 🏡

6 puppies brings some hefty vetting bills. Vaccines, boosters, fecals, treating intestinal parasites, microchips, exams, spays/neuters, flea/tick/heartworm pills. Plus the vetting of the parents and other adult dogs from the household they were born in to try to stop this cycle of “unplanned” litters. These are all things we do with the help of our community since we rely 100% on donations.
