To Cranberry Hill Cattery friends and customers,
I've been putting off making a FB post but it's overdue at this point. I'm sad to say that Jean, my mother passed away last Wednesday after living with cancer for 5 years. My family and I are wading through the grief and overwhelming to do list that comes with the death of a parent. Please bear with us as we sort through everything and make arrangements.
While she wanted a private funeral, she was excited about the idea of a celebration of life gathering that included family, friends, neighbors, customers, caregivers, whoever would like to stop by.
As dates for the events and her obituary becomes available I'll post it here. Please feel free to share this info as I know my mom's network of loved ones ran far and wide. ❤

Dear Beloved Customers,
It is with a heavy heart that I must announce the closing of Cranberry Hill Cattery. As many of you know, my cancer has advanced to Stage 4 despite the quality care I’ve received for the past 4 years, and I am no longer able to attend to the cattery with the quality of care that I strive for.
Cranberry Hill Cattery has been a dream of mine that I have enjoyed for the past 8 years and it has allowed me to meet so many amazing people and their pets.
The cattery business has been important to me not just as a source of income but also as an extension of my community, allowing me to care for your lovely pets which always brought me such joy.
This decision is difficult but inevitable given my diagnosis and I’m very sad to close the cattery. Prayers and well wishes are welcome, and donations to the GoFundMe are very much appreciated as well since the loss of income will be felt heavily.
I am grateful to all my customers and wish you and your family all the best.

Finally, another update on Jean and the cattery can be added to this page. I know her friends and customers have been asking for updates and I apologize it's been so long. Cancer sadly seems to be status quo at this point and the updates are never particularly positive.

The latest news on Jean and the Cattery:
Things have been tough business-wise in addition to a myriad of health issues which has kept her down for a few weeks. She is stressed by the slow business and is fearful that she may not be able to keep it up and running too much longer.
To make ends meet, she sold her beloved piano but is now dealing with the paralysis of her dear dog Diva's back legs, necessitating several modes of therapy which have only added to the stress and worry.
Again, we're reaching out in hopes that you can help provide some support while we try to "repair the ship" from the immense damage that 2022 caused. The cancer diagnosis at the end of the pandemic has done so much financial damage to my mom by both wiping out her savings and making her unable to work. We truly thought that she would be in a more stable place by now but unfortunately things are still a struggle and we're hoping her business will become lucrative enough to support her again.
Jean is so very grateful to everyone who has helped during this time. She says your thoughts and prayers mean everything in addition to her 22-month-old granddaughter, Cora whom she visits as much as she can.
