Good Early Wednesday Morning from DOGzHAUS Ranch.....
Pledge needed!
So.... we are committing to rescue this boy. He was going to be euthanized after 4 pm yesterday... and the shelter did not accept the extension. If you can donate, please pledge on the comment space below. This dog is still in WLA shelter but schedule to leave for our ranch this afternoon.... I won't collect any donations until we actually have the dog with us.
Being a rescue, you know, things sometimes happen very quickly to save one dog. I really thought he was going to be euthanized yesterday. I basically decided to take him at 3:58 pm... 2 minutes before his dead line.... I watched this video at 3:55 pm... and cried to know he is dying soon. Because he had few bite incidents in the shelter and quarantined 3 times. From the video, I did not think he was a biter. I was sure he was being scared in the shelter.
At 1:14 pm: I received a message from a WLA shelter volunteer who cared for this dog so much. She said his exit due was at 4 pm today or he would be euthanized. I said my rescue was full and could not take more.
At 1:32 PM: A different volunteer contacted me for this dog and sent me this video
At 1:39 PM: Other WLA volunteer contacted me but my answer was same
At 1:42 PM: the first volunteer person contacted me again and there was a rescue for him but no foster, so if they could board him at my boarding kennel. I said yes. He can come here as a boarding dog but I could not take him into my rescue. (My rescue and My boarding kennel are totally different company so I don't use a boarding kennel for my rescue dogs) I was relieved he was being rescued.
At 3:18 PM: I got contacted again and was told that the rescue backed off because of his multiple bite history.
HE HAD ONLY 42 MINUTES..... and NO RESCUE COMMITMENT....
Sam said "lets go to pick him up".... well, it does not work like that.
I am very responsible to commit for all my rescue dogs. I need a plan. I need to pull first.... and I still thought there was no way to take more dogs. I watched his video again....
At 3:59 PM: I messaged the volunteer and said I would take him. She immediately told the shelter staff to give the notice.
At 4:34 PM: The shelter staff called me and I pulled on the phone.
He is safe.
I am up at 4:14 AM now, figuring out and preparing to welcome this dog this afternoon.
24 hours ago, I did not even know about this dog and I had no idea I was going to pull one Rescue Only dog. But this is how a rescue is. I guess this dog was meant to come here. Since this dog actually need some decompression period and possibly some training, any donation will be very helpful.
I won't collect any pledges until we have the dog with us so please consider to help us and pledge on the comment space. I always appreciate your support. In this covid situation, we are very struggling financially to continue providing our best to all our rescue dogs.
