K9 Intuition Helping dog owners achieve calm, confident, well-behaved dogs. Specializing in behavior rehab & socialization. šŸ• Book a consultation below ā¬‡ļø Hi!

My name is Stefano Filippelli and I am glad you stopped by. A little bit about me, I was just like you, a dog owner with a very misbehaved dog who was truly pushing our family to the brink. I, at my wits end, was forced to reach out for help. In doing so I was able to, with a lot of time and effort, rehabilitate my dog and in turn become the trainer I am today. I have often believed that our dogs

have much to teach us, but it is up to us to listen. My dog opened my eyes to a whole other way of being with dogs. With this knowledge, I will focus on teaching you the psychology of your best friend and what he or she expects from you, his leader.

Did you catch it… or did it slip right past you? šŸŽ„šŸ¾

A lot of you had solid guesses. Seriously.
You saw pieces of it. The tension. The reaction. The moment it tipped.

But this goes deeper than most of you thought.

What you’re seeing isn’t just ā€œaggression.ā€
It’s a pattern that’s been built, reinforced, and misunderstood over time.

Look closer.

There’s a buildup before the explosion.
There’s hesitation before the decision.
There’s information the dog is giving… and no one’s answering it correctly.

That’s where this starts.

This dog isn’t unpredictable.
He’s actually very predictable… once you know what to look for.

And that’s the difference between guessing behavior…
and understanding it.

Most people react to the moment.
We look at everything leading up to it.

So… did you really guess it? šŸ‘€

Something’s off here… and it’s not random. šŸŽ„šŸ¾

Watch closely.
The timing, the body language, the reaction… it’s all telling a story.

But the question is… can you read it?

šŸ‘‡ Drop your guess below
Why is this dog behaving like this?

Tomorrow I’m breaking it all down.
What’s really driving this behavior… and what the owners decided to do next.

Some of you will nail it.
Most won’t. šŸ‘€

Odin Update 🐾

This is the same Boerboel who attacked his owner.
Today, he’s working alongside clients and their dogs calmly, clearly, and under control.

No shortcuts. No guesswork. Just structure, accountability, and real training.

Dogs don’t need to be labeled ā€œdangerous.ā€
They need to be understood… and led.

Why struggle?

Three days ago this dog was pulling, guessing, arguing with the leash like it owed him money.
Day 3 of the K9 Intuition 5 Step Program and the fog is already clearing.

Clarity replaces confusion.
Structure replaces chaos.
Communication replaces conflict.

This is what happens when a dog finally understands the rules of the game.

Day 3 of 5. Progress you can see.

TRAINER REACTS

In this clip two kids are hitting and harassing a dog while the dog is clearly communicating discomfort. The growling you hear is not aggression. It is a warning. The dog is saying stop.

Instead of listening to that warning, the kids keep pushing. Then the other dog in the room steps in and attacks the Rottweiler while trying to intervene.

This situation did not happen because of the dogs. It happened because the adults failed to supervise and failed to teach their kids how to behave around animals.

Dogs communicate long before a bite ever happens. Growling, posture, and avoidance are all warnings. When those warnings are ignored, things escalate.

Teach your kids to respect dogs. Supervise interactions. And listen when a dog communicates.

Most bites are preventable. This is exactly why.

TRAINER REACTS!

K9 Services Unlimited did a great video demonstrating that just because you own a breed that was bred for protection does not mean your dog will actually protect you.

A lot of people assume certain breeds automatically come with built in protection. The reality is very different. Protection work requires the right genetics, the right temperament, and very specific training. Without those things, most dogs will do what normal dogs do when pressure shows up. They avoid it.

This video is a great example of why breed alone does not determine behavior. Training, nerve, confidence, and drives matter far more than the label on the breed.

Worth the watch.

Humans keep buying ā€œprotection breedsā€ like they come with factory installed security systems. Dogs did not get that memo.

A conversation most trainers won’t have…
So I had it with myself.

Force-free vs balanced.
Emotion vs outcome.
Theory vs reality.

Watch how it actually plays out when you stop hiding behind labels and start addressing the dog in front of you.

Anyone can make a dog look good for a moment.
Very few can change how a dog actually thinks.

We don’t rely on constant management or distractions.
We address the root cause and make unwanted behavior no longer work.

That’s the difference between temporary compliance and real transformation.

When was the moment you knew you were on the right track?

Every dog tests you when you work in rehabilitation. Some push you to the edge of quitting. Some, like Kona, put you in the hospital.

Moments like this make everything else fade into the background. These are the gifts dogs give that push you to keep going.

What was your moment?

01/29/2026

They are stressed dogs who never came back down.

After a reactive moment, loud environment, or conflict, your dog’s body releases stress hormones. The event ends, but the nervous system often stays on.

So what do owners do?

More fetch
More stimulation
More chaos

And the dog gets more wired, not calmer.

That’s because movement alone doesn’t regulate stress.

Dogs need closure.

After stress, the body needs clear signals that the event is over:
Structure
Direction
Physical work with purpose
Calm, predictable handling
Return to routine

That tells the nervous system ā€œthreat handled.ā€

Comfort doesn’t create calm.

Clarity does.

Dogs relax when life makes sense.

Balanced Training vs Force Free.
One looks good on Instagram. The other actually works when life gets real.

At K9 Intuition, we don’t train for perfect conditions, treats, or ā€œhopefully the dog feels like listening today.ā€
We train for real dogs, real behavior problems, and real-world distractions.

If your dog is reactive, aggressive, anxious, or simply blowing you off, you don’t need more snacks.
You need a system that creates clarity, structure, and accountability.

āœ… Calm behavior
āœ… Reliable obedience
āœ… Safer households
āœ… Results that stick

If you’re ready for training that actually gets the job done, message us ā€œRESULTSā€.
