A HUGE THANK YOU to the Dave & Cheryl Duffield Foundation! 💙 We’re incredibly grateful to have been awarded a $10,000 grant through the Big Bet for Pets Boost Grant to support our Neil’s Helping Fund!

Named in honor of Neil, a former HART rescue who became a beloved clinic cat (pictured!), this fund provides emergency veterinary care for the owned pets of low-income families who meet WIC guidelines. The program covers up to $1,000 per case for urgent conditions such as fractures, lacerations, obstructions, and parvovirus, including follow-up care when needed.

Since 2018, Neil’s Helping Fund has provided more than $65,000 in assistance to over 130 pets, helping families overcome financial barriers to veterinary care and keeping beloved pets where they belong, with the people who love them. 💙

Due to overwhelming demand, the fund had been depleted. Thanks to the generosity of the Dave & Cheryl Duffield Foundation, we can continue providing critical emergency veterinary care to pets in need!

Together, we’re helping pets get the care they need and giving families hope when they need it most. Thank you for making this lifesaving work possible! 🐶🐱

Meet our terrific Tequila!

This sweet 5-year-old Treeing Walker Coonhound is ready to trade her den in our Adoption Wing for a loving forever home!

Tequila is a hound through and through! 🐶 She’s affectionate, playful, and always up for an adventure. Her nose loves leading the way, but after a day of exploring, she’s happy to settle in for some well-deserved cuddles. And of course, she’ll greet you with a wagging tail and her signature Coonhound bark! 🥰

Like many hounds, Tequila has a curious nose and an adventurous spirit, so she’s working on her recall and off-leash reliability. The good news? She has an amazing team cheering her on! 🎉

Tequila recently visited K9 Solutions Center of MD, where she did a fantastic job building her skills and confidence. A HUGE thank-you to Scott Holliday for working with Tequila and generously offering her future adopters TWO FREE training classes to help her continue learning and settle into her new home! 💙

Tequila has so much love to give, and with patience, continued training, and a family ready to embrace her hound-dog spirit, we know she can make a wonderful companion!

Could Tequila be your perfect match? Click the link below to learn more about this terrific girl and apply to adopt her today!
