Today we’re celebrating the colorful, intelligent, and often very opinionated parrots that share our lives!

Parrots are known for their incredible problem-solving abilities, social nature, and impressive lifespans. Some species can live for decades, making them lifelong companions that require specialized care, enrichment, and plenty of mental stimulation.

Whether they sing, talk, dance, or simply scream at you for being three minutes late with breakfast, parrots have a way of keeping life interesting. 😄

As a hospital that sees exotic pets, we know firsthand how unique these feathered friends can be, and we’re always happy to help keep them healthy and thriving.

Good evening all! Today we received this immature Bald Eagle that may have gotten in to a scuffle with another Eagle and lost. His wounds are minor and should make a full recovery. He will be with us for some time for treatment and if there are any fisherman that are willing to donate some fish to help feed this hungry guy we would greatly appreciate it! We thank you as always for those who donate to help us take care of sick and injured wildlife!

Happy Turtle Tuesday! 🖤💛

Lavender is a spotted turtle that arrived at Chadwell with an ear abscess. Since surgically removing the abscess, she has been on the road to recovery courtesy of turtle tech Faith. Spotted turtles are considered endangered, so being able to release Lavender is super important to the species.

Introducing the first spotlight of our herbs and spices group, Parsley the river cooter. Parsley came in after a run-in with a car damaged his shell. Luckily, his injuries aren’t too severe so after some more care from turtle tech Abby, he’ll be able to be released back to the wild waters!

Meet Sally, a 6-year-old Burmese Python who came to see us recently!

In these photos, we’re carefully positioning her for radiographs (X-rays). Proper positioning helps us get the best possible images while keeping our patients safe and comfortable.

These giants are known for their impressive size and calm demeanor, but they still need regular veterinary care to stay healthy just like any other pet. 🐍
