Another big project recently left my shop and he’s hanging over a bar at his forever home at the Clover Cliff Ranch Pavilion

He was a well known attraction on the ranch and was routinely visible at the center of many of their events. The poor thing actually fell and broke his horn core which caused the one side to start drooping severely.

Definitely was another unique project to work on and grateful to have completed it for them.

Moose Mass and Points!

Honored to have mounted this deer this summer. A 220” gross scoring whitetail. This is a classic example of pictures don’t do this deer justice. The mass was incredible and points were just everywhere.

Archery Antelope season is here in Kansas along with other multiple states out west and a couple have already came in to the shop this week.

Archery Antelope tags for residents can be bought over the counter and are listed at $50. The season is short and it closes this Sunday September 27th. If you got an itch to go out to western Kansas and you have a place to go hunting out there for them, go and give it a try. Good luck and let me know if I can help you out with your mount.

The 2026 deer season has began and some deer are already coming in. Here’s your reminder to make sure you have plenty of cape length and have the full brisket and armpit areas intact. It is also preferred not to make a cut down the middle of the back spine line. Please tube skin the cape!!!!

Reference the photos and start skinning at the midpoint or last rib area of the body and tube skin forward towards the head.

It can sometimes be easier to just remove the front legs right above the knee joint and as you skin forward, simply slip the skin over the cut off upper leg just like taking a t-shirt off.

As you work towards the brisket and armpit area, take your time and keep it all in tact as you skin forward. Once you get past that area continue tube skinning up the neck to the base of the skull or until you feel comfortable with as far as you can skin.

Once you have done that cut through the neck completely and remove the head. You can then bring the rest to me and I will do all the detail skinning off the head.

If you are absolutely unsure or feel you are uncomfortable with caping the deer out. Please reach out to me and you can bring it out to me completely in tact but field dressed , and I will cape it out for you off the body.

Congratulations to 5 year old Bryant Tarn for harvesting his first ever buck. What a moment it was receiving the call directly from him while still out in the field on his dad Jason’s phone when he harvested it and letting me know “he got one”:

He put in the time practicing this summer and it paid off with a 170” gross green scored buck.
25” main beams , 13” & 11” G-2’s, over 5” mass measurements and the rest adds up quickly.

Looking forward to getting it put together for him this season

Kickers Like Crazy!!!

Congratulations to Heath Henandez who harvested and checked in this incredible buck during the continuation of the late archery season today on Christmas Eve. I’ve been a demolition derby car sponsor of Heath’s over the last couple of years and he has represented Anderson Taxidermy well with wins across North Central Kansas.

Late Season Archery Tag Filled / Gift Certificates

Week 7: Once again time got away on posting as I was busy caping out deer last weekend and into this week. The r***e season is now past us but this weeks post is already proof that you still have a chance to tag out these last few days of archery season

My daughter Kabreyan being busy at K-State didn’t get to hunt as much as she would’ve like to this fall but she went and got it done this week on her college holiday break. Deer are patterning hard on food sources right now so stay after it if you get a chance.

I was also asked about Gift Certificates again this year, and YES I have them available if you’re looking for a last minute Christmas idea yet.
