“Does my reptile really need a UVB light? What does it do for my animal?”

⭐️ UVB HOODS/ LIGHTING ⭐️

✨ Reptiles, in the wild, spend a lot of time basking in sunlight to regulate body temperature.

While basking they are getting UVB and UVA rays absorbed into their skin.

These rays hit the skin and start a chemical reaction that creates vitamin D3. Without enough D3, a reptile cannot absorb dietary calcium for their bones, nails, and teeth.

This can turn into MBD- Metabolic Bone Disease- or skeletal deformities. ✨

UVB is as important to reptiles as is heat, and proper nutrition.

If you have questions about your reptiles UVB needs, stop by📍 Caleb’s Aquatics.
