Pet Rescue League

We are a 501(c)3 foster based animal rescue run by volunteers. We strive to find the right home for each animal we take in.

We also provide training services, a pet food bank, and a spay/neuter program. Pet Rescue League is a 501(c)3 foster based rescue run by volunteers. We are located out of Aberdeen, SD but are willing to help animals and people wherever needed. Our mission is to promote the kind treatment of animals in our community and to support and create strong bonds between people and their pets through adopti

on, education, and rescue services. Animals in our program stay in foster homes while we find them new families based on their needs. We strive to find the right match for our adopters as well as for our animals. We also provide a low-cost spay and neuter program and a pet food bank for Veterans, elderly and disabled people, and low-income families so that animals can stay in their homes instead of entering a shelter or impound.

Happy tail! Miss Ruby’s new family is just a touch smitten with her:

She’s back to being a dog and soooo loved. She has been such a blessing and I’m not sure who needed who more. Her skin is healed and she’s found her happiness again. I’m so grateful for her and she’s right where she’s meant to be!

Here’s what his fosterer says:

Carver has been with us for a year now. He has grown so much in this time. I’d say he’s about 18 months old and is a medium-sized dog.

He absolutely loves being outside playing with the other dogs. He will definitely need another dog in the house to make him more comfortable and outgoing.

I’d say kids 8 and older are best. He’s still working on jumping up on people. He knows sit, stay, and is kennel trained. We haven’t used the kennel in months. He cuddles up with you at bedtime.

Hi! I’m Pepper and I’m looking for a family to love! I’m a pretty special dog-please read to learn about me.

I am approx. 7 years old and am a medium-size mixed breed that is spayed and up to date on my vaccinations. My foster mom did send in a DNA test so I will know soon what my background is. 🤗

I am a big snuggle bug who loves to sit on the couch and snooze. Wherever you go, I want to go, especially on car rides or outside. I love to go fishing on the boat and camping. ⛵️⛺️

When I look at my foster mom with my big brown eyes, she melts and pets me. We have worked hard over the last few months to work on my reactivity and shyness. ☺️🫣

My skills are as follows: I am housebroken and crate trained, I know how to shake, spin, sit, lie down, down, leave it, stay, heel, go back, and come (when I want to because smells lure me in.)
I am leash trained on a collar and a harness and don't mind being brushed or having my nails trimmed. I love to go on walks but don't really require them. Although I am mostly a calm, sweet girl, I do get the zoomies so a fenced area to run would be great. 👏🤓

I like other non-dominant dogs, if I am introduced slowly and correctly over time. I love people and kids after I get to know them. I love to play with Allie, my dog sister. I have not been introduced to cats. 🐶🐱🚸

My foster mom has been working on alert barks and woofs so I just woof once and then quit because I am protective of my home and surroundings. 🏠💪

My forever home would be with a family with kids and a fenced backyard.
I would love to be the only dog in the family, but with the proper introduction, I could live with another dog. I can be dog-reactive if startled or rushed by another dog so slow introductions and observant owners are the key.

She's happy, potty trained and spoiled lol she had her first camping trip and did awesome everybody loves her ❤️ Chad even has a song that he sings to her that she loves and gets so excited lol.

The tough reality of helping pets in need. Unfortunately, some animals that come into a rescue are ill or have challenges. Today we had to say goodbye to Hulk as this sweet soul had a large mass on his liver. His foster, Sydney, stayed with him till the end and treated him like a king. Today, I ask everyone to give your special furry companion a treat in honor of Hulk.
