Hi!! This is Nugget. He’s looking for a foster or adoptive home. **Video in comments**
He is a nearly 5 year old (June 2021) Cockapoo and is about 45lbs.
🐾 Nugget has done ok with other dogs.
🐾 He would like to live in a home without small children.
🐾 He hasn’t been around cats. But, we can try it!
🐾 He gets a bit testy about being told to get off of his spot, so his new family will have to work with him on that.
🐾 He is neutered and utd on shots.
*** If you’d like to meet Nugget, please read his story below. Afterward, if you think he may be a good fit for you- please fill out the application.⤵️
Thanks!😊🐾

Nugget’s family has written a wonderful description of what his life has been like for the past 5 years. 🐶🥰
Family:
In the 5 years I’ve had the fuzzy wiggle tigger of the Nugget, he’s had a lot of adventures. He’s walked the Northern campus countless times (and had many a people fawn over his cuteness), he’s chased rabbits, squirrels, and airplanes, he’s licked and plowed over the niece and nephews. He was begrudgingly a kennel pup until necessity mandated he roam free and he found his spot in bed. (He will not be told otherwise, thank you.) His love for car rides and trips to the vet (and a trip through the drive thru for a pup cup) are unmatched. If your foot is free, that’s his butt scratching post, thank you. He is a firm believer that his spot is on your lap at all times, no matter what, and will lick your hands like none other. If you tell him you’ll take him for a walk, he will make sure to ask you every 5 seconds. Repeatedly.
Bravery is not his strong suit, however. Bubbles from the refilling water dish? Terrifying. New humans? Must bark. Humans that have been in the house that now move after sitting for a hot second? Must bark. A new box that hasn’t been there before? Nope. A motorcycle helmet on the table? Won’t go past the table. Car seat containing a new tiny human (sometimes didn’t contain it)? Took him a week to be able to walk past it. Also….NOT a hunting dog. Ask the husband. In short, he is a follower, not usually the initiator.
But….it’s time for the Fuzzy to have a new adventure. He needs a new home and a human who has the time to give him the love he needs. He has done well with small humans in the past, but has not so much lately (one surprised him and earned a nip that didn’t break the skin), so would prefer a home without small humans. Does not like to be told no, and may take a hot while to warm up to you. He is the best snuggle pup, but has no regard for personal space or boundaries. He has just learned what human food is and to beg, but his favorite treat is still ice cubes. He can sit like nobody’s business (Zo made sure he has had lots of practice.) He is also Fuzzy like none other….hates when I give him a haircut, but loves going to the groomers. Tolerates baths (I have to pick him up to put him in the tub, but doesn’t argue the bath itself).
Finding him a new home is never what I wanted to do when I got him, but I also want what is best for him and a new home is what is best for him. He just needs a home who has the patience, the love, the time to snuggle him, take him on all the walks and can do a bit more training with him.
P.S. He can jump like none other (counter tops are safe, but can clear them with a single jump from sitting).😳😂
