🎵 It’s the Most Wonderful Pool Day of the Year 🎵
The gates are wide open,
The doggies come runnin’,
There’s splashing and barking
And tails wagging everywhere!
Entry’s a free-will donation,
For AAHS celebration,
Bring money or dog food,
Some toys or some treats to donate!
There’s litter and cleaning
Supplies they are needing,
Whatever you bring
Helps the animals while they all wait!
There are puppies a-paddling,
Old doggies wading,
And somebody’s retriever
Has stolen a toy from his mate!
There are big dogs and small dogs,
And short dogs and tall dogs,
Fluffy dogs shaking
And soaking the people nearby!
With the barking and playing,
The chasing and spraying,
You can’t help but laugh
At the happiest sight in the town!
Oh, the shepherds are swimming,
The spaniels are spinning,
The huskies are howling
While bulldogs just lounge in the sun!
Hundreds of good dogs,
Hundreds of wet dogs,
Hundreds of wagging tails
Making the whole place come alive!
When the evening is ending,
They’re tired but grinning,
With soggy wet fur
And that sparkle of joy in their eyes.
So bring on the splashing,
The barking and dashing,
The wonderful, wiggly,
Ridiculous canine parade!
There is no better evening
For dogs or their people—
The pool has gone completely
To the dogs...
It's the most wonderful day
Yes, the most wonderful day
Oh, the most wonderful pool day of the year!
