My sweet Serafina. 🩷😻🐾 She is unlike any cat I've ever encountered. We bonded the second we met back in 2017 through Ann Bradfield. I'll always be grateful to her for introducing me to my soul-cat.🥰

This was a video sent to a friend, but I had to share it because of Tovie's wiener scratching... you have to watch to get it, lol! I swear, just when I think they can't possibly surprise me anymore, one of them does this...😆😆😆

This special needs baby is in Texas, but I just had to share him! He's going to require specialized care the rest of his life, so don't adopt him just because he's the cutest damn thing since the original Dobby himself... Praying for this bald little angel!

Foster please!

🚨 URGENT: DOG FOSTERS NEEDED NOW 🚨

Our shelter is beyond full, and we urgently need to move dogs into foster homes today.

Many of our large dogs have been waiting far too long in the shelter. The constant noise, unfamiliar environment, and lack of a consistent routine are causing some of them to become increasingly stressed. They don't need perfect homes—they just need a chance to exhale.

We're urgently looking for foster families who can take home a large dog (45+ lbs) for at least two weeks. That short break from the shelter gives them time to decompress, sleep peacefully, learn a routine, and show us who they truly are outside of a kennel. It also opens a lifesaving space for the next dog who has nowhere else to go.

You don't need a huge house, a fenced yard, or previous experience. We'll help match you with a dog that fits your home and provide the support you need along the way.

If you can foster for two weeks or longer, please come to BARCS today (August 6), tomorrow, or Saturday to meet our foster team and find your perfect temporary companion.

BARCS is Baltimore City's open-admission shelter, which means we never turn animals away—even when every kennel is full. Right now, your spare room, couch, or quiet corner could be exactly what a stressed shelter dog needs to reset.

🐾 Looking to adopt instead? Adoption fees are WAIVED all month as part of Maryland 3000.
