This past weekend we got to participate in a local dressage schooling show. I showed Merlin, Ritz, and Teddy. Our college intern showed her mare and Dakota showed our lesson horse Sylvie. Everyone did great and learned a lot. We are so greatful for Gabi Siefkes for organizing this event. It is so nice to not have to go for to attend a show. Teddy and Ritz even came away with some high point awards!

We braved the heat this past weekend with the show horses for a summer clinic with Amy Miller at Prairie Rose Training Center Dressage . We are so glad we went and are excited to start working on our homework.

This week for lessons we are taking it easy and moving lessons to the mornings when possible. The lesson horses actually enjoy coming in from the paddock and getting a break from the sun and flies. We are finishing each lesson with a good long hose off for the horses and taking lots of walking breaks during the lesson.

My trip to Florida earlier this year was successful and Brooke and Dakota were able to find a horse. His name is Zeal and he has been with us for about a month now. It takes horses a while to adjust to a new place but lucky for Zeal we have been having very Florida like weather latley. We found out he loves water and tries to eat it when you hose him off. We are excited to see Dakota and Zeal form a bond.
