Good morning Everyone!
It has been brought to our attention kennel cough is sneaking in with the abnormal temperature changes! (Not really, just the yearly cold😅)
We’re informing our customers Kennel Cough is an airborne virus (very similar to humans getting a cold) and is common amongst crowded areas where dogs hang out! Just how the common cold spreads for humans, kennel cough spreads similarly! We take our precautions and sanitize/clean everyday! We do require UP TO DATE vaccines to enter the facility! (Bordetella, Distemper, Rabies) Unfortunately kennel cough is one virus we have to just wait out but you can do your best to avoid it, we WILL be doing our best to keep it out of our kennels and informing anyone who has not seen this post!
Precautions YOU can take! :
Making sure to distance from dog crowed areas for about 1-2 weeks.
Cleaning/Sanitizing their bowls, collars, toys and comfort blankets after any visit of any sort!
If your pup starts coughing! please contact your vet and see if they recommend going in as it affects all ages, sizes, and breeds differently! (PLEASE let us know as well if your pup has come here and went home with a cough, that way we know which parents to contact if your pups were playing together!)
As for now, we will be taking our extra steps to clean/sanitize daily! If it smells like a pool, just know we’re keeping those germs OUT! 😅 Thanks for understanding and if anyone has any questions or concerns you can contact our work phone! We’ll be happy to help!
