Today, we celebrate the incredible charities, nonprofits, volunteers, donors, and community members who work every day to make the world a better place. ❤️

Charities come in many forms, each serving an important purpose—helping people, supporting families, caring for animals, strengthening communities, and providing hope when it is needed most. Every donation, volunteer hour, shared post, and act of kindness can create a meaningful impact.

🐾 PAWS IS CURRENTLY AT CAPACITY 🐾

Our kennels and cat rooms are full, and our intake waitlist continues to grow. We know how difficult it can be when someone needs help with an animal, and we truly wish we could say “yes” to every request. ❤️

But the reality is that we cannot safely take in more animals when we are at capacity. Making room beyond what our facility and staff can responsibly handle would compromise the care of the animals already depending on us.

💙 Here’s how our community can help:
• If you are considering surrendering an animal, please plan ahead and contact us about our release process and waitlist.
• Please do not abandon or leave an animal outside our facility.
• Consider reaching out to other local shelters and rescues if you need immediate assistance.
• Help us find homes for the animals currently in our care by sharing their adoption posts.
• Spay and neuter your pets to help prevent unwanted litters and reduce the number of homeless animals entering shelters.

This is a difficult time for shelters across the country, and PAWS is not alone in facing this crisis. We are incredibly grateful for everyone who continues to support us through adoptions, volunteering, donations, fostering through other organizations, and simply sharing our posts.

Together, we can help keep animals safe and give the pets already at PAWS the time, care, and attention they deserve. 🐾💙

Looking for a gentle soul to fill your home with love, cuddles, and purrs? Meet Gabriel! 🐱💕

Gabriel is a certified cuddlebug with a heart as soft as his favorite cozy blanket. 🥹🐾 His perfect day includes a few gentle pets, a comfy place to curl up, and plenty of quality time with his favorite person.

This sweet and gentle boy has also done well with other cats! However, Gabriel is a bit of a quiet-home connoisseur and would much rather trade hustle and bustle for peaceful surroundings. Lots of sudden noises, visitors, or frequent coming and going can leave him feeling a little overwhelmed.

Gabriel is hoping to find a calm, cozy home where he can relax, feel safe, and truly let his sweet personality shine. 🌙🏡 Give him a peaceful place to land, plenty of love, and all the cuddle time his little heart desires, and you'll have one very happy kitty. 💙

🐾💚 MEET CASHEW! 💚🐾

Cashew has quite the story! He was originally adopted from PAWS as a kitten but recently found his way back into our care after having a difficult time adjusting away from his brother, Pistachio.

The good news? 💕 Cashew and Pistachio have made it very clear that they belong together! These sweet brothers are now a bonded pair and are looking for a loving forever home where they can stay side by side. 🐱🐱

Cashew is still settling back in and letting us get to know him, but we have already discovered that he has the most adorable little squeaky meow! 🥹 He enjoys attention and pets and, while he may be a little shy when entering a new environment, his curiosity quickly takes over. Before long, he is ready to explore!

Cashew is a sweet boy who will thrive with a patient family, a gentle approach, and—most importantly—his favorite companion, Pistachio, by his side. 💚

🐾 Why Spaying & Neutering Every Animal Matters 🐾

The animal shelter crisis is real, and one of the biggest ways we can help is by preventing unwanted litters before they happen. ❤️

Every year, thousands of cats and dogs enter shelters already struggling with limited space, limited resources, and overwhelming numbers of animals needing homes. Behind every kennel is an animal who deserves a safe, loving family—but there simply aren't enough homes for all the animals who are born.

🐱 Homeless cats are especially affected. Cats can reproduce quickly, and just a few unaltered cats can lead to dozens—or even hundreds—of kittens over time. Many of those kittens may end up homeless, living outdoors, or entering already-full shelters.

🐶 Spaying and neutering helps break this cycle. It:
• Prevents unwanted litters
• Reduces the number of homeless animals
• Helps decrease the number of animals entering overcrowded shelters
• Can provide important health benefits
• Helps reduce behaviors such as roaming and marking
• Gives existing shelter animals a better chance of finding homes

💙 One spay or neuter can make a difference far beyond one animal. By choosing to spay or neuter your pets, you're helping prevent future litters and creating more opportunities for the animals who are already waiting for homes.

The shelter crisis isn't something shelters can solve alone. It takes all of us—pet owners, adopters, veterinarians, rescues, shelters, and our entire community working together.

Please spay and neuter your pets. And if you see a homeless or unowned cat in your community, consider looking into humane resources such as TNR (Trap-Neuter-Return) to help prevent the cycle from continuing.
