๐Ÿพ๐Ÿ’› If You Feed Them, Please Watch for Newcomers ๐Ÿ’›๐Ÿพ

One of the most important parts of managing a community cat colony doesn't end after the first round of TNR.

Cats move. Cats are abandoned. New cats show up.

If you're feeding community cats, please keep an eye out for unfamiliar faces. If a cat has been consistently showing up for several days, it's time to start asking questions:

โ“ Is this cat already ear tipped?
โ“ Does this cat belong to someone?
โ“ Is this a new cat that needs to be spayed or neutered?

Please don't wait until there are kittens on the ground or multiple cats have joined the colony. Early action prevents panic later.

๐Ÿšจ See something. Say something. Do something.

As volunteers, we can provide guidance, resources, and supportโ€”but we don't live at your colony. The people who feed every day are the first line of defense against overpopulation.

The best time to address a new cat is when there is one new catโ€”not when there are eight new kittens.

Together, we can stay ahead of the cycle and create healthier, more stable colonies for everyone involved. ๐Ÿ’›

๐Ÿ”ฅ It's HOT out there! ๐Ÿ”ฅ

๐Ÿพ Community cats need access to fresh water just as much as food, especially during these summer months. โ˜€๏ธ

Here are a few simple ways to help:

๐Ÿ’ง๐Ÿ’งPut out multiple water bowls in shaded areas.

๐ŸงŠ Freeze a bowl of water or add ice cubes to help keep water cool throughout the day.

๐Ÿฅฃ Use heavy ceramic or plastic bowls that won't tip over easily. Don't use metal bowls in the summer as they get hot more quickly.

๐Ÿงผ Wash and refill bowls DAILY to prevent algae and bacteria from building up.

๐Ÿ  Place water stations under porches, feeding stations, or other sheltered areas to protect them from direct sun.

โฐ Check water levels morning and evening โ€” bowls can dry out quickly in extreme heat.

A few minutes of your time can make a big difference for community cats, wildlife, and even neighborhood pets. โค๏ธ

Stay cool and stay hydrated! ๐Ÿ’ฆ
