REAL FARM FEED MIX TODAY: What 5% Means? 🐔📊

Many farmers get confused by "5% Broiler Concentrate". It simply means you need 5kg of concentrate for every 100kg of final feed.

Today on my farm I had:
Maize 82.7kg + Soya 48kg = 130.7kg

So calculation:
130.7kg / 0.95 = 137.6kg final feed
Therefore Jubaili 5% needed = 6.9kg

IMPORTANT: With Jubaili 5% for BROILERS, you don't add lime separately. Jubaili already has calcium, DCP and all vitamins inside. Adding extra lime will cause leg problems.

This is the mix I used today. Brand was Jubaili, but formula works for any 5% concentrate (Hendrix, Koudijs, etc).

REAL FARM FEED MIX TODAY: What 5% Means? 🐔📊

Many farmers get confused by "5% Broiler Concentrate". It simply means you need 5kg of concentrate for every 100kg of final feed.

Today on my farm I had:

Today we had to stop and repair our small mill. If you make your own feed, you know this machine is your MONEY SAVER!

Why you need your own mill for Sasso feed formulation:

✅ Commercial feed = 185,000 UGX per 50kg bag
✅ Own mixed feed = 110,000 UGX per bag.You save 75,000 UGX PER BAG! For 100 Sasso (15 bags) = you save over 1,100,000 UGX!

Simple Sasso Grower Mix I use:
60% Maize, 20% Soya, 10% Maize Bran, 5% Sunflower, 2% Shells, 2% Premix, 1% Salt

HOW MUCH FEED DOES 100 SASSO EAT? (Day 1 to 4 Months) 🐔

Don't start poultry without knowing this!

🔹 INTENSIVE SYSTEM (closed house):
4.8 - 5.3kg per bird = 480-530kg total = 10-11 bags of 50kg
Ready for market at 11-12 weeks

🔹 SEMI FREE RANGE (most common in Uganda):
7 - 8.5kg per bird = 700-850kg total = 14-17 bags of 50kg Ready for market at 16 weeks

> 📊 DAILY BREAKDOWN for 100 birds:
> Week 1-4 Starter: 1.5kg / day
> Week 5-8 Grower: 6kg / day
> Week 9-16 Finisher: 10-12kg / day

HOW TO MAKE YOUR SASSO, KROILERS & LOCAL BIRDS HEAVIER IN 60 DAYS 🔥

Many farmers complain - my Sasso are 4 months but still small. Here is the secret:

1️⃣ FEEDING: Don't give only maize bran! Use 20-22% protein starter for first month, then grower. Mix mukene (silver fish), soya, and maize properly.
2️⃣ DEWORMING: A bird with worms will NEVER grow. Deworm every 60 days + give vitamins.
3️⃣ HOUSING: Give them space to run! Free-range + clean water = faster growth.
4️⃣ SECRET BOOSTERS: Black Soldier Fly larvae (40% protein), Moringa leaves, and fermented feed.
Local birds can reach 2.5kg, Sasso 4kg+, Kroilers 3.5kg if you do this right!

🥚 TODAY WE GOT A SHELL-LESS EGG - LET ME EXPLAIN

If you have been farming layers, you have seen this.

Today we collected this strange, soft, pale egg among our normal brown eggs. (see photo)

This is NOT witchcraft. This is NOT a disease egg.

This is called a SOFT-SHELLED EGG. It happens when a hen did not get enough calcium overnight, or she was disturbed while forming the shell.

It means one of our 30-week-old girls is a bit stressed from this heat, or she ate less calcium yesterday.

*Is it safe?* Yes, but we will NOT sell it. We eat such eggs at home on the same day because they don't store well.

*What we are doing:* We have added extra oyster shell and Vitamin D3 in water to help the girls build stronger shells. Farming is daily care.

This is why I always say - Real farm eggs are natural, not factory made. Sometimes you get one soft one. A factory will never show you this.

But we have 99% strong, brown, hard-shelled eggs #🐔

🐔 REAL FARM TALK - WHY THIS EGG IS SMALL

Farming is not always perfect large eggs.

Today during collection on our farm in Kira, we found this small egg from our 30-week-old layers.

Many farmers would hide it, but I will teach you why it happens 👇

When a hen is stressed by heat, or after laying a very big egg, her system can sometimes lay a smaller "wind egg". It's still a fresh, clean, organic egg - just smaller. And sometimes with a little blood speck which is normal and safe.

This is proof we are not using any magic to enlarge eggs - our birds lay naturally, so sometimes small, sometimes large.

This small one has the sweetest, most yellow yolk - best for your children!

We always sort our eggs into Small, Medium & Large before delivery, so you always get what you want
