Meet My Rescued Cats #1
— ShctAngel (we often call him Shtangel) 🐾
Shtangel’s life started in a very difficult place — behind a hotel near the river.
There were two tiny kittens there, but his little brother died from illness. Their mother, tin, small kitty, disappeared and the kittens were left alone.
At that time I already had many cats to care for — sick cats, kittens, sterilizations. I honestly did not have the strength to take another one. But a colleague noticed the small sick kitten and asked me to look at him.
I told him: please take the kitten to the veterinary clinic and write the bill to my account. In Turkey some clinics help like this if they know you rescue animals.
The vet said Shtangel needed daily treatment. I couldn’t do it myself then — there were simply too many animals already depending on me. My colleague kindly took the kitten home for about a week and gave him the medicine.
But after that week the kitten was returned to the same place near the hotel.
For the next months I brought food around, but there were many cats in that area and many dangers. Sometimes I didn’t even see him.
Then one rainy day something unexpected happened.
Shtangel walked all the way around the large hotel building and somehow found our office where some cats were already living. And he stayed.
We did not push him away.
The surprising thing was that ShtAngel never tried to go back outside. It seemed that a few square meters of safety were enough for him. Home cat.
He lived with us there for about a year and a half.
Then one spring something terrible happened — several cats became sick with FIP. First there was an epidemic of sneezing and respiratory illness, and later FIP started appearing one after another.
One day Angel developed a very high fever and a strange nervous movement of his head. I immediately understood what it could be.
We rushed him to the veterinary clinic.
The prognosis was very bad. FIP, Neurological, His liver was failing and the vet said he might only have a week.
But ShtAngel decided to fight.
He stayed in the clinic for about a month and a half. Slowly, incredibly, he recovered.🙏😊
Later we brought him home where he lived in a separate room at first, and later together with his best cat friend.
