How to prepare your dog for guests 🐾
Before guests arrive, make sure your dog’s basic needs are met.
A proper walk, sniffing time, play, or a chewing activity can help lower excitement and tension.
Create a simple and predictable “guest routine” your dog can understand.
Don’t force interactions.
Your dog should always have the choice to observe from a distance and approach in their own time.
Prepare a safe space where your dog can rest undisturbed — another room, a crate, a mat, or a quiet corner.
And remember:
if your dog struggles with barking, jumping, fear, or overexcitement, management is not failure!
Using a leash, baby gate, or creating distance can help everyone feel safer and more successful.
Less tricks. More understanding.
